INDIE & I-D Magazine

In order to gain a better understanding of the magazine industry, I decided to research current magazines and also more specifically magazines that compliment my chosen genre of music. After analysing several different designs for covers, I had decided on two magazines that stood out to me. The first one was ID, I found this magazines style particularly interesting because it was unusual and different to any covers that I had ever seen before. Also the level of creativity used to highlight the models face each with a unique touch. I found that it attracted my attention better than most design ideas and it creates its own level of individuality, rather than sticking with convention. This made it prefect inspiration for my own magazine. Furthermore, I found that the magazine 'INDIE' was very good inspiration as the shots of the models were simple, however each one had a slight difference, but was similar to ID in the sense that it did not stick with traditional magazine styles and designs.
